Switching IT providers in Townsville without the disruption
Changing IT providers is easier than most practices expect when the handover is planned. We do the chasing, document everything and tell you plainly what we find.
In short
To switch IT providers with Curity, you give notice under your current agreement and authorise us to collect access and information. We then run a planned handover: gathering administrator access, documenting your systems, putting our management and security tools in place, and reporting any inherited risks, usually without interrupting your practice.
Signs it’s time to switch
- The same problems keep coming back
- You chase your provider for updates
- Nobody can explain how your systems are set up
- Security questions from insurers or clients are hard to answer
- Invoices are a surprise
- You don’t have a plan for ageing equipment
What we need from your current provider
- Administrator access to Microsoft 365, servers, network devices and key software
- Domain, DNS and internet account details
- Backup systems and where your backups are stored
- Phone system and number details
- Any documentation they hold about your environment
We handle the conversations with your outgoing provider professionally. You only need to authorise us.
The handover, step by step
- Agree scope and start date. We confirm what we will support and any transition dependencies.
- Collect access. Named, secure administrator access replaces shared or unknown credentials.
- Document. Sites, network, Microsoft 365, devices, software vendors, backups and phones.
- Secure. Our monitoring and security tools go in, MFA and admin access are checked.
- Report. You get a plain-English list of inherited risks and what we recommend.
Your first month with Curity
You’ll know who to call, how to log a request and who your IT Champion is. We’ll have documented your environment and talked you through anything urgent.
Leaving us, if it ever comes to that
Our agreements run for an initial 12 months, then renew yearly unless either party gives 30 days’ written notice. When you leave, we hand over your documentation, access and materials on request, as our agreement requires.
Questions about switching
How long does it take to switch IT providers?
The handover itself usually takes 3 to 5 business days once your notice period allows it and your current provider has handed over access and information.
Will switching IT providers disrupt our practice?
A planned handover is usually invisible to staff. We schedule changes that do affect people, such as new security tools, outside your busiest times.
What if our current provider won’t hand over access?
We can usually recover access to Microsoft 365, domains and most systems with your authority as the account owner. It takes longer, which is why we start early.
Ready for a provider who owns the outcome?
Tell us about your current setup and we’ll explain exactly how a handover would work for you.
