How Curity uses AI, and how we help practices use it safely
We use AI every day to work faster and more consistently. We also know what it shouldn’t touch. That is the experience we bring to practices that want the benefits without the risk.
In short
Curity IT Solutions is an AI-friendly managed IT provider in Townsville. We use governed AI tools internally to support our service team, and we help law firms, medical practices and accounting practices adopt AI safely through AI use policies, Microsoft Copilot readiness, data and permission reviews, and practical workflow automation where it creates measurable value.
We use AI every day in our own business
AI helps our team summarise information, draft documentation, find the right procedure faster and keep our knowledge consistent. People stay accountable: AI supports our work, it doesn’t make decisions about your systems on its own.
- AI assistants that follow Curity’s documented procedures and standards
- Human review for anything that affects your systems, access or data
- Clear rules about which systems AI tools can and can’t use
- Our own AI platform runs on infrastructure we manage, under our own access controls
How we protect client information when using AI
Least access
AI tools get only the access they need, the same principle we apply to people.
Approved tools only
Business AI tools with appropriate data protection terms, not free consumer accounts.
Human accountability
A person at Curity remains responsible for every outcome AI helps with.
What never goes into an AI tool
- Passwords, keys and other credentials
- Client, patient or financial records in tools without appropriate business data terms
Helping your practice adopt AI
AI use policy
A short, practical policy for staff: which tools are approved, what data can be used and what needs checking.
Copilot readiness
Permissions, sharing and sensitivity reviews before Microsoft Copilot is switched on.
Coming soon
AI that keeps your data in Australia
An AI service for practices that can’t send client information overseas, built on the same approach as the AI platform we use at Curity.
Coming soon: AI that keeps your data in Australia
Many law firms, medical practices and accounting practices can’t use popular AI tools because client information would be processed overseas. We’re preparing an AI service for exactly these practices: your prompts and documents are processed in Australia, with the same access controls, accountability and human review we apply to everything else.

AI and professional obligations
Legal
Client confidentiality and privilege mean law firms need clear rules about what can be entered into AI tools and how outputs are checked before use.
Medical
Patient health information is sensitive under the Privacy Act. Practices need to know where data goes before using AI scribes or assistants.
Accounting
Client financial data and tax file numbers need protection, and AI-generated advice still needs professional review.
We help with the technology and data protection side. Your professional body’s guidance and your own advisers remain the authority on professional obligations.
Questions about AI
Is it safe for a law firm to use ChatGPT?
It can be, with the right business account, settings and staff rules. Free consumer accounts are generally not appropriate for confidential client information. We help firms choose approved tools and set a policy.
Should our practice turn on Microsoft Copilot?
Possibly, but check permissions first. Copilot can surface anything a user can already access, so overly broad sharing becomes a bigger risk. We review this before rollout.
Do we need an AI policy?
Yes, if anyone in your practice uses AI tools, and they probably already do. A short policy reduces the risk of confidential information ending up somewhere it shouldn’t.
Can we use AI without our client data leaving Australia?
Not with most popular AI tools, which process data overseas. Curity is preparing an AI service that processes your prompts and documents in Australia, designed for law firms, medical practices and accounting practices. It’s coming soon: ask us to let you know when it’s available.
Is Curity an AI-friendly IT company?
Yes. We use governed AI tools every day in our own service delivery and help Townsville practices adopt AI safely.
